For many, "new year's resolutions" sounds like a naive thing to do, almost as if, those things you'd dare putting on the list would just be the ones you know you'll never do. "What's the purpose? No one ever keeps their new years resolutions! If you need new year to start thinking about them, how motivated are you really?". I would agree with that last comment any time of the year except in January. What if they just happen to come at that time of the year?
My belief is that any time is a good time, EVEN the New Year!
So if you are against new year's resolution, you simply are against new resolutions all together. Then, we really have a problem!
The right time is when YOU FEEL IT. When you feel the energy within you start boiling and you feel pushed to TAKE ACTION.
When that happens, it is also the right time to gather the support you'll need. Support you will need to reach your goals, or to simply make your journey more pleasant. Because let's add this: part of the goal is to enjoy THE JOURNEY to the goal. More about that another time...
Ok, so after this deep introduction, let's get practical. I have to confess to you, that I, a life coach, have never made new year's resolutions.. Ouch.. just lost half of you on this one...! Just being honest here. I just follow my own internal calendar.
But maybe I can make an effort, try something new, and see how it feels and goes.
So here is my first list ever. Well, give me a few days to make it, I don't want to commit lightly.
Meanwhile... anyone has a list readily available to share?
